ARIDE – Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement

Description: This 16-hour course is designed to enhance a law enforcement officer’s ability to detect drivers that are impaired by drugs. It is meant to bridge the gap between Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) training. Along with a heavy emphasis on drug impairment, the course agenda also includes a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) refresher and an OWI legal update presented by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) is a pre-requisite for Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) candidates.
