720–HOUR LAW ENFORCEMENT BASIC TRAINING ACADEMY
Spring, 2023 (SP2023) – January 11 through May 19

ENTRANCE PRT (PHYSICAL READINESS TEST) – November 6, 2022
Pre-service candidates who successfully complete this training are deemed “certifiable” for a position in law enforcement by the State of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board for a period of three years.
Training will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the MATC Oak Creek Campus located at 6665 S Howell Ave. Some evening sessions required.
The approximate cost for this training is $4,800.00. Estimate includes fees that must be paid separately: registration, background checks, uniform, books, equipment, and scenario evaluation. If using GI/Veteran benefits, contact the Veterans Office at 414-297-6394 for more information.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Submit copy (front and back sides) of valid WI Driver’s License (or one recognized by the WI DOT)
- Submit copy or official sealed High School Diploma/GED Transcript
- Submit official sealed College Transcript(s) showing completion of 60+ credits from fully accredited college(s) (unofficial accepted if in progress but credits must be completed before Academystart date); submit to address on the bottom of the flyer
- Submit State Application for Preparatory Training Enrollment (DJ-LE-327) including written responses to three essay questions (section six) https://wilenet.widoj.gov/training-standards/officer-training-employment-and-reciprocity
- Submit $7.00 with Criminal History Background Check form http://ecampus.matc.edu/policetraining/Library/CIB-DMV.pdf (must be free of convictions that would prohibit possession of a firearm). If applying in person, take payment and form directly to MATC Campus Cashier first
- Submit Medical Assessment Form (DJ-LE-332) https://wilenet.widoj.gov/training-standards/officer-training-employment-and-reciprocity signed by physician/PA, allowing participation in vigorous physical activity before participating and passing mandated Training and Standards Physical Readiness Test (PRT) prior to the interview

- Successfully complete an oral interview before a panel of law enforcement professionals; the top applicants will be offered a position in the training class
